Newt is the ideal barrel horse for a competitive rider or high school/college rodeo horse. He is as consistent as they come normally in the 2/3D depending on the race. Newt has a reining foundation and has plenty of fun buttons to play with but when it's time to work he knows it. Newt is better suited for a handy youth or more experienced rider as he knows his job very well. Newt has been roped off of, trail rode, pushed cows, and much more but for the extended period of his life he has been an amazing barrel horse. 
 
Newt does require equioxx for comfort, he is sound without it but performs best on it.
